Shot RAW in the San Juan Islands – Judd Cove Lime Kiln

Description

Number 378 of the DK Barker Gallery collection is “Judd Cove Lime Kiln” a Black and White Print of what is actually named Gregg’s Lime Kiln, named after Captain Nathan Gregg a prominent resident of East Sound. It was built around 1888 and is all that’s left of a mining, processing and shipping enterprise that briefly dominated Judd Cove on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Limestone was quarried from the adjacent hillside, then hauled downhill and heated in this kiln to manufacture lime, a valuable product of the time. Nearby forests fueled the operation. A wharf was built in Judd Cove for loading the lime onto ships.

Comfort Colors introduces the “Comfort Colors 1717” garment-dyed t-shirt; a fully customizable tee made 100% with ring-spun cotton. The soft-washed, garment-dyed fabric brings extra coziness to your wardrobe while the relaxed fit makes it an excellent daily choice. The double-needle stitching throughout the tee makes it highly durable while the lack of side-seams helps the shirt retain its tubular shape.
